For many years, the idea of a recession and its effects was something that I never thought about. And why would I? Since I graduated college in the midst of the Great Recession (‘09), my entire professional career has developed during the longest and most prolific economic growth cycle in history.

It was mid-last year when one of my teammates asked me, “Ray, is Qnary prepared for a recession? How would we handle it?” Honestly, I had no idea.

I started reading blogs and case studies, really trying to come up with a flexible business plan that would give a smart answer to these questions. Despite the rumors of an economic downturn throughout 2019 and the first few months of 2020, I didn’t see a recession coming and Qnary, as a business, was growing at a very fast pace. I stopped worrying about it, as the pressure of growing the business became higher and I wanted to capitalize on the positive momentum we were having.
