What Personally Identifiable Information do we collect?
The primary purpose of collecting information from you is to provide you with a safe, smooth, effective, and personalized experience and to fulfill the transactions you undertake with us. How we collect and store information depends on the page you are visiting, the activities in which you elect to participate and the services provided. For example, you may be asked to provide information when you create a profile, register for access to certain portions of our site, or request certain features, such as newsletters. This can include your first and last name, email address, physical address, telephone number, and other social and behavioral information you may supply directly in managing your profile, or by linking your Qnary profile with your other social media networking sites.
Where possible, we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional. We also collect personal information when you report a problem with our services through the Site’s feedback form or contact email addresses. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
What are “cookies” and how do we use them?
Like most Web sites, Qnary also collects information automatically and through the use of electronic tools that may be transparent to our visitors. Data collection devices, such as “cookies”, are used to store, and sometimes track, information about you. Generally, these cookies help provide personalized services and promote trust and safety. A cookie is a small file containing a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and placed on your computer’s hard drive to assist us in providing our services. Among other things, the cookie may store your user name and password, sparing you from having to re-enter that information each time you visit, or may control the number of times you encounter a particular advertisement while visiting our site. All pages on the Site where you are prompted to login or that are customizable request that you accept cookies. Cookies are only read by the server that placed them and are unable to execute any code or virus. Most cookies are “session cookies”, and are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a session.
As we adopt additional technology, we may also gather information through other means. In certain cases, you can choose not to provide us with information, for example by setting your browser to refuse to accept cookies, but if you do you may be unable to access certain portions of the site or may be asked to re-enter your user name and password, and we may not be able to customize the site’s features according to your preferences.
